Welcome to Mrs. Haurin's Physical Education Classes
The focus of our elementary physical education program is to provide students the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that will help them develop a lifelong appreciation for the benefits of physical activity.
Classes are structured with stretching and agility warm-ups followed by skill drills and activities.
All students participate in our 1 Step @ A Time run-walk program to promote cardiovascular fitness. Students have five minutes to see how far they can run or walk. A log is kept of laps completed and students write their name on the gym wall when they have reached ten miles. A marathon wall has the names of students who have logged 26 miles and the Olympic wall is for those who reach 50 miles. Students are realizing the benefits of a cardiovascular workout in staying healthy.
